Universal Remote Control, Inc. Virtual Assistance Terms

Universal Remote Control, Inc. (“URC”) Virtual Assistance (“URC VA”) accelerates your searches, reduces friction, saves you time and provides you with personalized answers. Your use of URC VA is subject to these terms of use (“Terms”). By using URC VA, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

    1. URC VA IS A BETA FEATURE AND IS PROVIDED “AS-IS,” “WITH ALL FAULTS,” AND “AS AVAILABLE”.
    2. URC makes no guarantees or promises about how URC VA operates or that it will function as intended.
  2. Eligibility and Use Requirements
    1. If you can use wired or wireless Internet with your personal or work account, you can have access to URC VA, which is available at www.urc-automation.com.
    2. Along with these Terms, your use of URC VA is also governed by the URC Website services terms, which is also available at www.urc-automation.com. If there’s any conflict between these Terms and the URC Website services terms, the conflicting provision in these Terms will control.
  3. Using URC VA
    URC VA may allow you to submit text inputs and converse with an online computer-powered chatbot and in certain circumstances generate text content or image content.
  4. Data
    All data processed by URC VA, including voice input data, will be processed according to the URC Website Privacy Statement available at www.urc-automation.com/legal/privacy-policy/
  5. Intellectual Property
    You’re responsible for respecting, and shouldn’t break, digital rights management (DRM) or any other copyright protections.
  6. Ownership of Content
    URC doesn’t claim ownership of any content you provide, post, input, or submit to, or receive from URC VA. You’ll need to make your own determination regarding the intellectual property rights you have in output content and its commercial usability, taking into account, among other things, your usage scenario(s) and the laws of the relevant jurisdiction. You warrant and represent that you owns or otherwise controls all of the rights to your content as described in these Terms including, without limitation, all the rights necessary for you to provide, post, upload, input, or submit the content.
  7. Third-party claims
    You’re responsible for responding to any third-party claims regarding your use of URC VA in compliance with applicable laws (including, but not limited to, copyright infringement or other claims relating to output content that was output during your use of URC VA).
  8. Extracting data
    You may not use web scraping, web harvesting, or web data extraction methods to extract data from URC VA or from any output content.
  9. In respect of URC and non-URC sites, it is up to you to take precautions to ensure that whatever you select for your use is free of such items as viruses, worms, trojan horses and other items of a destructive nature.
  10. URC SHALL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES (REAL OR IMPLIED; DIRECT OR INDIRECT; INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL; TANGIBLE OR INTANGIBLE) THAT YOU OR ANY OTHER PARTY MAY INCUR, EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED FOR IN A SEPARATE WRITTEN AND EXECUTED AGREEMENT WITH URC. Your use of URC VA is governed by the laws of the State of New York, excluding its conflict of law principles. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association in New York, NY.
