This inspirational project from C.A.V.E.S. (Complete Audio, Video, and Electronic Systems) Integration www.cavesintegration.com of Tallmadge, OH blended the best of smart home technology with the beauty of nature.

The homeowner dreamed of a comprehensive and powerful solution that was intuitive enough for guests to operate easily. With prior experience with a URC system, the homeowner decided to deploy another system at his Chautauqua Lake residence.

The space itself is quite unique with the decor and surfaces. The C.A.V.E.S. team, multiple Unsurpassed Award winners, kept technology accessible with a minimal footprint, so not to change the natural design cues. However, the strategy included creating moments of discovery with a modern vibe. For example, LED strip lighting accents and Alexa voice commands add contemporary convenience. Welcome Home and Good Morning scenes were added, with one touch activation, to welcome guests to the property and allow them to interact with the system quickly and easily. A Good Night macro was added that turned off the bulk of the house from the master bedroom, without affecting the guests in the guest bedrooms. Timers were added to automatically turn specific zones off after at a certain hour, just in case the party ends early. Additionally, C.A.V.E.S. integrated a 38x zoom PTZ camera that allowed the homeowner to monitor boats and view the lake from the comfort of the Great Room couch. This video was synced to a 75” Samsung TV.

High quality audio was a primary goal for the homeowner. The C.A.V.E.S. team created 10 zones, including dedicated theater and front porch zones, to elevate enjoyment of the spectacular lake view while enjoying favorite entertainment. The Great Room was partitioned into a discrete TV zone for practical use, with the ability to combine a party zone that incorporates the in-wall speakers. Two discrete controllable zones of RGB LED strips add to the mood and ambiance. The entire main living area has a Lutron Radio RA2 lighting system, accessible from any interface. Since the lake is really the centerpiece of the home, outdoor A/V was a must. A Seura TV mounted over the fireplace created the prefect spot to gather and watch the game. The fire pit has Episode Landscape speakers that extend the audio system into the yard. A great place to chill and listen to the integrated Sonos player. A dedicated card room/game room, a dedicated theater and an upstairs bunk room (that doubles as an additional gathering area) provided guests space to relax and enjoy with the indoor climate. There’s even an indoor shuffleboard area in the basement. All of it made easy to control with URC interfaces and the Total Control system.
