Luxury Estate Embodies Best-in-Class Custom Integration

All of that knowledge and experience have been particularly valuable to homeowners and business leaders who wish to evolve spaces and experiences. As a homeowner of a large estate in Eastern Ohio searched for the best team to deliver their vision, they contacted Brian and chose wisely. The desires and demands of the homeowner were extensive, spanning from easily enjoyable family living to large political and business gatherings with hundreds of guests. The landscape and home presented an impressive blend of natural beauty and the latest in luxury home building. Bringing Brian and his team into the planning phase, proved to the be an important decision in building an automation system including wiring, power, convenience and ease of integration. This important decision helped to evolve the expectations of a technology enabled lifestyle into thoughtful design. This included seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces and thinking about those spaces singularly…as one. The design considered the user experience from the front gate, to the entertainment space located on the estate’s lake, to the home theater, to the kitchen, and to the primary bedroom.

With the vision confirmed, Brian and his team crafted a single, large control and automation system that covered the entire estate including 4 large structures. With an expansive footprint, the plan delivered the benefits of smart living environments across audio, video, climate, shades/drapes, security, lighting, and much more. The core of the system included URC’s Total Control®, was built on URC’s MRX system controller platform, and included vast integrations with several brands. Voice control was an important component including two (2) Ring Video Doorbell Elites that livestream video from the access point and allows surveillance of key spaces on the estate.

Clearly, lighting was an important component of crafting an upscale experience and this project includes a massive subsystem. Lutron’s HomeWorks QSX was a significant portion of the overall system including HPQ7 HomeWorks processors and over 100 Palladium keypads and Sunnata Dimmers and Switches.

Whole Home Audio was a vital system platform ensuring the best listening experience for the family and the many guests and dignitaries. With over 30 zones of audio, Brian created listening experiences based on URC’s HDA high-definition audio platform including four (4) HDA-8100 8-Zone 100W Amplifiers and one (1) HDA-1600 600W 70V Low-Z Amplifier to integrate with the outdoor living space, and a variety of HDA-130 Single Zone 30W Amplifiers, HDA-SW5 5 Port AVB Switches, and HDA-I/O Input/Output Stream Adaptors. From ducking and announcements during a large event to a single listening experience using Autonomics MMS-5e 5 Music Streams Streamer, the home’s audio platform was crafted with state-of-the-art technology. At unveiling, the homeowner was able to access their preferred audio streaming service without additional subscription fees. Total Control allows the dealer and homeowner to select their streaming preference without additional fees for control integration. As planned, the system delivered superior sound quality through over 60 Paradigm speakers.

The media room is an entertainment lover’s dream. Complete with luxury seating, the space features booming audio with URC’s HDA, Paradigm CI Pro speakers, Anthem MRX 740 8K Home Theater Receiver and twenty-seven (27) Custom Cut Out Acoustic Graphix panels, the media room provides theater-quality AV experiences with reliable, easy-to-control operation.

Ease of use was another critical component and the system delivered…from the start. With thoughtful placement, Brian and his team strategically placed eight (8) TKP-8600 touch screens with voice control, five (5) TRC-1480 handheld remotes and two (2) TDC-5100 touch screens to ensure easy, available control. Considering traffic patterns and usage occasions, the plan placed near entertainment devices like the eleven (11) LG and Samsung large flat screen TVs, near access points, and in rooms heavily used by the owners and their guests, including the main living floor with great room, large family room and chef’s kitchen.
