Two URC remotes are now in the CEDIA Product Hall of Fame. URC is proud to report that the MX-850 had been inducted into the CEDIA Product Hall of Fame. It joins the URC MX-500 which was inducted in 2011.
“This award reminds everyone that URC has been around for a long time — more than 25 years — and continues to build products that are reliable, popular with consumers and profitable for dealers. We are especially honored that this is the second time a URC remote control has been recognized in such a grand fashion by CEDIA. But it sure won’t be the last,” said Cat Toomey, URC Director of Marketing.
The CEDIA Product Hall of Fame honors products that have had a significant positive impact on CEDIA members. To be considered, products must have entered the market a minimum of seven years ago. The URC MX-850 was introduced in 2005.
When introduced to the market a decade ago, the MX-850 was an innovative remote in the control arena that helped create the now widely known category of “barrier free” control.
This ergonomically designed remote controls up to 20 components, each of which can be programmed with up to four pages of LCD screens. Installers can easily edit the text on each LCD screen exactly as preferred (up to 26 screens with ten buttons per screen, for a total of 260 available text buttons and up to five characters per button). The powerful memory of the MX-850 also offers extensive macro programming with up to 912 potential macro buttons.
